About EBA
The European Banking Authority (EBA) is the primary financial regulatory authority in European Union responsible for overseeing open banking and financial services. As a National Competent Authority (NCA), EBA ensures that banks and third-party providers comply with open banking regulations, protecting consumers while fostering innovation in financial services.
SCA Update: The EBA is responsible for the regulatory framework and technical standards for PSD2 and other EU-wide financial regulations. National regulators in EU member states implement and enforce these standards locally.
Jurisdiction: European Union Member States
The EBA sets regulatory standards that apply across all EU member states. Each country has its own National Competent Authority (NCA) that implements and enforces these regulations locally.
