About National Bank of Belgium

The National Bank of Belgium is the primary financial regulatory authority in Belgium responsible for overseeing open banking and financial services. As a National Competent Authority (NCA), they ensure that banks and third-party providers comply with open banking regulations, protecting consumers while fostering innovation in financial services.

SCA Update: On 27 August 2019, the Belgian regulator acknowledged the new guidance by the European Banking Authority and shared that they’re working on a phased implementation plan. The length of the delay or any intermediary milestones have not yet been officially confirmed.
