About SBS
The Superintendencia de Banca, Seguros y AFP (SBS) is the primary financial regulatory authority in Peru responsible for overseeing open banking and financial services. As a National Competent Authority (NCA), SBS ensures that banks and third-party providers comply with open banking regulations, protecting consumers while fostering innovation in financial services.
SCA Update: The SBS supervises banks, insurance, and private pension funds in Peru. Open banking regulation is under development following Law proposal 1584/2021-CR; the SBS has issued a favorable opinion for implementation.
