Overview

The National Bank of Kazakhstan, with the Agency for Regulation and Development of Financial Market and the Agency for Protection and Development of Competition, developed the Concept for Open API and Open Banking 2023–2025. A pilot for account information exchange launched November 2023 with five banks and ~130 customers. Scaling in 2024–2025 includes account aggregation for legal entities, C2C transfers, and product-oriented Open APIs.
